A class for budding little bakers. During this one-time class we will learn how to follow a simple recipe and bake banana muffins.* Your child will mash bananas, mix the batter, fill the muffin tins, and delight in the fact that they made it themselves. And all of this will be done in a half hour so they will be able to share and enjoy their creation in no time. They will also receive a certificate declaring that they are now a master muffin maker. Every recipe has been tested by me to...
1 file available upon enrollmentIngredients Needed (Measurements provided upon enrollment): • All Purpose White Flour • White Granulated Sugar • Baking Powder • Baking Soda • Ground Cinnamon • Ground Nutmeg • Salt • Eggs • Oil (Vegetable or Canola) • Ripe Bananas (If you prefer you can substitute shredded Zucchini for the Banana. Other Fruits or Vegetables (e.g., canned Pumpkin) may also work but I have not tried them.) • 1 Muffin Pan • 2 Medium Bowls • Measuring Cups and Spoons • Spoon, Spatula, or Fork (For mixing batter) • Plastic Bag (For mashing bananas. You may also want a rolling pin to roll over the bag but little hands work just as well.) • Pam Spray or Muffin Liners • Knife or Toothpick (To check doneness) • Oven (For baking muffins)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Prior to Class: An adult will need to gather all the ingredients. Measuring will be done during class. During Class: An adult will need to bake the muffins in an oven. Some students will also need assistance with measuring ingredients during class. If you prefer you can also measure everything ahead of time and put them in separate small bowls so your child can just add the ingredients together as we go through the recipe. Allergies: The supply list section includes all measurements and ingredients. Please review if your child has any allergies.
