In this multi-day class students will paint a field of poppies while identifying Vincent Van Gogh's poppy field paintings. Lesson #1 Students will make sure all supplies that are needed are within their reach. Students will follow the step by step demonstration shown by the teacher and raise their hand to ask for help or a question. The teacher will check in with the students after each step to make sure no one gets left behind. First, we will identify the colorful fields of flowers Vincent Van Gogh used in his paintings by viewing shared slides focusing on his famous works of art and introducing his paintings of poppies. Students will follow the teacher's demonstration by drawing a diagonal line across the center of their paper using a pencil. Next, we will draw a a second diagonal line creating three sections of our paper. We will then paint the top section of our paper blue using watercolors. Next, we will paint the middle section of our paper yellow using watercolors. We will then paint the bottom section of our painting green using watercolors. At the end of class students will be able to share their background with the class. Lesson #2 Students will make sure all supplies that are needed are within their reach. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former K-12 Art Teacher who loves to teach drawing, painting, weaving, ceramics/pottery, and paper crafts.
I enjoy sharing my skills with children of various ages and watch their amazement at what they CAN accomplish.
Many students (and adults) feel they are not very good at art. I break down my lessons into small steps for anyone to create a masterpiece!
I love to read, sew, and create art with my 10 year old daughter!
