Class experience
CLASS STRUCTURE In this ongoing class, students will be creating a work of art while learning about a piece of art history. Each class will begin with an invitation for students to share their own art. I will then introduce the famous artist of the day. Learners will be invited to share their observations about the artist’s work, and we will discuss what makes that artist unique. I have been taking art classes since I was six years old and have always been passionate about this subject. I am an experienced elementary education teacher with a master's level of schooling. My emphasis while working on my undergraduate education degree was in the fine arts.
Lists of the upcoming week's project supplies will be provided upon enrollment. For continuously enrolled learners, the supply lists will be posted on the class page 4-5 days in advance. While I encourage students to try the suggested supplies for the purpose of getting experience using a variety of tools, most lessons can be adapted for alternate supplies when needed. I will always check with the students during class to determine if I need to adapt my instruction to include any alternate materials or art supplies.
