Hello Little Adventurers! Are you ready to visit each and every continent on the planet?! In this flexible class leaners will virtually travel to each continent. Each week learners will get a pre-recorded lesson from me and activities to complete in a Nearpod lesson, as well a study pack with fun worksheets, crafts, activities and challenges to complete at home! Assignments will take place in the form of crafts and drawings which can be uploaded and shared with peers in the classroom! The lessons on Nearpod will include a mixture of videos from me, pictures, games, quizzes and interactive activities. Week 1 - Introduction the the 7 Continents Learners are introduced to the world and the 7 continents. We will learn: -What is a continent? -What are the 7 continents in the world? -Where are they on a map? -How big are they? During this week learners will create a map of the world. Week 1's content is slightly shorter than the following weeks as it is a brief overview of the 7 continents. The structure will be similar for weeks 2 to 8 as we learn about each continent in more detail. As we travel to each country we will be reminded of where it is on the map. We will visit some key places of interest such as the highest / largest / lowest / smallest features and some of the Wonders of the World! We will also look in more detail at 2 of the countries in each continent (excluding Antarctica). Each week there will be a video of one craft for learners to follow along with at home. Each week learners will be asked to think about what their favourite part of the trip was and what they loved in the continent visited, they can share this in the classroom by writing a comment or by drawing a picture and uploading it! Learners will be asked to create a flag for the continent based on what they have learnt about it. They should think about what colours, shapes and elements best represent the continent. Additional continent specific tasks will be uploaded each week. This will include worksheets, craft instructions, or other activities relevant to the continent. Each week will also come with one STEAM challenge for learners to try!
