Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of the 7 continents.

By the end of this course students should be able to:
-Name the 7 continents
-Point them out on a map
-Identify the continent that they live in
-Identify some key features of each continent
-Recognise some famous landmarks in each continent
Learners will be asked to do some work after the Nearpod lesson.

What is your favourite thing about the continent visited? Learners can write a comment (or ask their grownups to write for them) or they can draw a picture and parents can upload it into the classroom.

Can you make a flag? Think about what you have learnt about the continent, what colours, shapes and elements best represent the continent? Grownups can take a picture and upload into the classroom. Be sure to check back and have a look at what the other learners have drawn!

The study pack (10-13 pages per continent) will contain a range of additional activities and challenges to try at home including crafts and STEAM challenges. Grownups should check the worksheets are suitable for their learners' age and stage of development.
The lesson code and link will be shared into the classroom to access the Nearpod lesson on a Monday. Each week a study pack will be provided to support learning. Study packs will include worksheets and craft instructions that are completely optional. Some worksheets provided will be duplicates from the Nearpod lesson.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
