US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Hello Little Adventurers! In this multi-day camp we are going to be leaning about and traveling to 5 countries! Each lesson is scheduled to be 40 minutes but may run shorter depending on the number of enrolments in the class. There will be time at the end of each class to talk about what they enjoyed in each country! This class will help to deepen you child’s knowledge and understanding of the environment, natural world and social environments. By studying geography and learning about new countries children grow to appreciate the differences in cultures and people around the world! The class will be fun and interactive, and I will encourage learners to move around and get involved in what they are learning about! I encourage learners to look up the country before hand and share what they already know! Each country will have a mini book for you to print and use at home. Learners can complete some during class but can finish outside class as there may not be time to fully complete the book. Mini book activities will include key facts about the country, a map, coloring the flag and more! Leaners will also have a travel passport and travel stamps for each country! Class Content Content will vary depending on the country, but here are some examples of content that may be covered in a class: Location- Where is the country? What continent is it in? Capital city- What is the capital city and where is it? Food- What food do they typically eat? How do they eat it? Features- are there any physical or human features? Are there any iconic landmarks? Weather- how is the weather there? What clothes should we wear? We might even learn how to say hello and goodbye in the native language! Where are we going to travel to? If there is a particular country your learner would like to cover (or if your learner has learnt about the country with us before) let us know in advance and we can sort that out!
