Hello Little Adventurers! I hope you're all ready to explore the world as we take on each continent! This class will meet 5 times and we will learn travel to each of the 7 continents! Meeting 1 - Introduction / Asia Meeting 2 - Africa / North America Meeting 3 - Antarctica / South America Meeting 4 - Europe / Oceania Meeting 5 - Create a Map! At the start of each meeting we will have a quick recap of the map of the seven continents and of the previous meeting if applicable. We will then learn about the continents in turn. At the end of the class I will encourage learners to share their favourite things about teach of the continents. Class content and the focus of the class will vary depending on the continent as they all have their own unique features, however the classes will cover the following: -Where is the continent? -How big is the continent in relation to the other six? -How many countries we would find in the continent? (excluding Antarctica) -Are there any Wonders of the World in the continent? -What are some of the famous attractions? -Are there any interesting animals? During meetings 1 to 4 we will be using a map of the world that learners can colour and label as we visit each continent. There will also be a colouring page if they need to keep their little hands busy during class! During meeting 5 we will create a map of the world with the seven continents while reviewing key facts. You can find all the materials needed for this class in the supply list below! The class will be fun and interactive, and I will encourage learners to move around and get involved in what they are learning about! I always encourage learners to share what they already know, what their thoughts are and any questions that come up! Each continent will have a small study pack to support learning. Meeting 5 involves a craft and the use of scissors - please fully supervise your learners.
Since we are talking about places learners often try to share where they live and sometimes try to give specifics! Please remember to remind your learner to share any identifying details about where you live!
Supply List
A learning pack for each continent will be provided in the classroom For meeting 5 we will be creating a map of the world together, learners will need: - Continent outlines (provided in the classroom) - A3 paper / 2 pieces of A4 paper stuck together (preferably blue to represent the ocean) - Scissors (please supervise) - Glue - Colouring pens /pencils / crayons

My teaching style is laid back and interactive and I love seeing learners actively participate in their learning! I have a passion travelling and learning about new countries and cultures! My favourite place in the world is the island of Bali in Indonesia because of the kind hearted people, the stunning landscapes and the food!

Mute/Unmute: We try not to mute learners during class. If your learner has background noise they may be muted and this will be communicated to them. Please make sure that learners are able to unmute their microphones or grownups are nearby to support.
Technical Issues: If you are experiencing technical issues during class time please try logging out of zoom and back in. Teachers like to be fully present for other learners during class time so may not be able to answer messages sent. If the problem persists please contact Outschool Support.
Teacher Substitutions: We are an organisation with a group of teachers. In some instances another teacher may substitute for another (in the event of sickness/appointments/other engagments). This will be communicated as soon as possible to learners and parents.
