Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of Herman Melville's classic novel as well as their understanding of cetology, experiences aboard a whaling ship, and the connection between human history and natural science.
I have an extensive background in marine biology and marine education. I also love classic literature. I find the connection between science and literature absolutely amazing and I am excited to facilitate meaningful conversations with my students.
Read Moby Dick. Watch 'In the Heart of the Sea'.
Students will need access to the novel Moby Dick and the movie 'In the Heart of the Sea'. Teacher will provide slides and activity worksheets.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
