I have over ten years of experience as an English teacher. I taught this novel and its background significance for five years to ninth and tenth graders in my physical classroom.
Students will have weekly reading homework as well as 3 short homework assignments to complete during the 6-week class. After the class ends, students can send me their final analysis essay to assess. I will provide thorough feedback on all assignments.
Students will need their own copy of Animal Farm. They will also need paper and a pencil for most classes. Access to a printer is recommended as I will include some printable notes and activities.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will assess the students informally through class discussions and the short writing assignments. I will assess the students more formally with their literary analysis essay. If you would like me to provide a final grade for the essay and/or class as a whole, please let me know during the first week of class.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
