Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will compare and contrast different versions of the same story, with the aim of helping them hone their critical reading and critical thinking skills. They will also have a chance to examine the message and moral that is presented by the story.
Students will complete reading (no more than 15 pages) in the class setting.
Students will need to be able to write their reflection, and create their two lists/drawings.
Students will be assessed by their final written reflection, which showcases their level of understanding and participation in the class. Students also will be expected to participate in the class discussion.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Cinderella stories do deal with siblings and parents being cruel to a member of their family, and there is also some mild gore in the Grimm version. I will choose the tales that are least graphic.
We will refer to several Cinderella stories found and available in the public domain.

About Me

Hello! I teach classes that combine Literature, History, and Anthropology, using fairy tales. I also teach classes on archaeology, and will hopefully add some English Literature and history classes to my list later.
