Literacy Circle: Save Me A Seat

Students will join their peers and teacher to have literature circle discussions about the story "Save Me A Seat" by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan. Students should read through chapter 25 for the first class session in order to be prepared for the discussion and complete the book for the second session. The instructor will guide the students in the discussion as needed, but will encourage the students to take the lead in discussing their thoughts and interests. This is an important...

Students will work on their comprehension skills, as well as social skills, while interacting with peers and teacher.
Vicky has been a certified teacher for 12 years in the public school system. She holds a bachelor of science in elementary education and a master of science in early childhood education. She has completed many additional courses outside of these degrees, including the coursework to become a certified reading recovery teacher for at risk students.
Homework Offered
