We will be doing a summer themed listen and draw activity. I will give them directions such as 'draw a flower on NEXT TO the tree. Draw a bird ABOVE the tree, etc.' I will draw along with them. Students will then write a short passage about their picture. Because children color at different paces, we will only draw the picture and write a short passage. Learners can then color the picture after class has ended. I am including a downloadable page I suggest the learners download, print and...
Listening and Speaking time is an important part of the daily classroom schedule. Listen and draw assignments helps students practice their listening skills, language skills such as preposition (next to, above, below, etc) and following directions. This is also intended to be an easy and fun art activity. At the end of the class, students will have a completed drawing they can finish coloring after class. Time permitting, we will share our pictures with the group.
As an instructional assistant and substitute teacher in elementary schools, I have led Listening & Speaking time including listen and draw activities for several years.
Learners should color their pictures after class.
1 file available upon enrollmentEach learner should come to class with a piece of paper, pencil, eraser. Coloring tools such as crayons, colored pencils, etc will be needed to complete the picture after class. I am including a downloadable sheet I suggest the learners use for this activity. Please download, print and bring to class. A plain sheet of paper is also acceptable.
