Class Experience

Students will learn what rhyme scheme, stanzas, and rhythm are to poetry. They will also learn the rules to limericks and successfully write their own limerick.
I have taught middle school Language Arts for over 20 years and have often taught limerick writing as a part of my class.
Students will be required to review basic concepts in order to participate in class discussions. They will also need to write several limericks to demonstrate understanding.
Students would benefit from access to Google docs. They must have paper or a white board.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive a final report based on their ability to write a successful limerick and their class participation.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
