Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings! You can call me Teacher Adam. In 2008, I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN with a degree in Elementary Education Preschool-6th grade. During the past 8 years, I have taught K-6 grades as an Elementary School classroom teacher. I'm leaving the typical classroom setting and venturing into the virtual classroom with new and fresh ideas that allow learners to grow and enjoy learning. My teachings follow COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS and NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS. My classes can be described as exciting and engaging, allowing student to make creative choice and HAVE FUN!
What is teaching to me? Teaching should be an intrinsically rewarding experience for both the instructor and the learner. Teaching is to engage learners in discovering and making connections about a topic, connections to the world, connections to each other, and connections to self. STAY POSITIVE! KEEP AN OPEN MIND! Get students to become INDEPENDENT LEARNERS.
What might you like to know about me? I love to travel! Currently, I'm making move to Chicago, IL from Atlanta, GA, but grew up most of my life in the Music City of Nashville, TN. The summers will be much cooler in Chicago and the winters even more so! I'll need to get a serious coat. While I'm living in Chicago, there will definitely be several visits to the museums and art galleries. You might find me on a typical day off walking around seeing the architecture or sipping coffee at a local bistro. Let's explore learning and HAVE FUN TOGETHER!!!!
