Lifeskills Easy Meal Prep
In this one time class students will learn simple meal prep for a delicious dish including roasted asparagus, London Broil and potatoes.
Class experience
The lessons will occur live and be demonstrated by me with students following along each step of the way. I incorporate slideshows and recipe steps to teach culinary concepts and cooking tips. Food will be prepped live and students will be able to see the end result from a previously cooked meal. Students will learn how to cut fresh vegetables, roast a piece of beef, cut across the grain for the ideal tenderness and boil potatoes. These culinary skills can then be transferred to other simple meats and vegetables for a healthy, nutritious and self confidence inspiring meal for family and friends.
I teach Culinary Arts classes during the school year and have extensive experience teaching students how to prepare and plate foods, adding to their self efficacy and eating pleasure. As a Culinary Arts educator, I have much experience training students in life skills and making their own delicious foods. Using a simple recipes, students build their knowledge of roasting meats. This yummy and satisfying meal will enable your child to assist in holiday food preparation and build confidence in multiple areas such as planning ahead, problem solving, reading comprehension and food creation. Your student will enjoy preparing meals for future family events and special people.
A recipe and list of equipment will be posted upon class enrollment.
Ovens, stovetops, refrigerators and knives will be used. Parental supervision of young or inexperience students may be helpful. Groceries are best purchased before the class so that students can follow along with my examples.
