In this weekly life skills class, we'll work together to learn important skills that help you do well in the world around you. We’ll practice things like ordering from a menu, sorting groceries, handling emergencies, staying safe in the kitchen, managing time, budgeting (Do I have enough money?), having good phone conversations, and sending the right texts. We’ll also talk about road safety, doing chores, and more!
Learning Goals
Improve Practical Communication Skills
Students will learn how to communicate effectively in various situations, including ordering food, making phone calls, and texting, with a focus on clarity, politeness, and appropriateness.Enhance Daily Living Skills
Students will develop the ability to manage daily tasks such as grocery sorting, kitchen safety, and household chores, gaining confidence in their ability to contribute at home and in the community.

Ordering from a Menu
Learn how to read a menu, make a choice, and order your meal politely at a restaurant. We’ll practice with fun role-playing to build confidence for real-life situations. 55 mins online live lesson

Grocery Sorting and Organization
Discover how to sort and organize groceries like a pro! This lesson will teach you how to group similar items and keep your kitchen neat and tidy. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Problem Solving in Emergencies
Learn how to stay calm and solve problems when emergencies happen. We’ll go over what to do in different situations, so you’ll be ready if something unexpected comes up. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Kitchen Safety for Beginners
Stay safe while helping in the kitchen by learning the basics of kitchen safety. We’ll cover how to use common kitchen tools and appliances without getting hurt. 55 mins online live lesson
