Class Experience

Kids need stress relief, too! Most of us don't learn to use stress management tools until college or late adulthood. Studies show learning coping tools to prevent and manage stress is just as important as core academics. As a matter of fact, stress management can help with test taking, studying skills, and actually helps to create better learners in general!

Is your learner feeling overwhelmed and having a hard time coping? Or maybe they just could use some more coping tools in their toolbox. In this course, students will learn all about stress and how to manage it. Finally, learners will see how to create their own stress ball or watch the teacher create one.
Here is the breakdown for this course

1. Ice Breaker
2. What is Stress?
3. Different Coping Skills
4. Creating your Stress-Free Toolbox
5. Optional: Create or watch the instructor create a stress ball/ Create a picture of something to make you feel less stressed
6. Optional: Share out

We use a lot of interactive slides, discussions, handouts, videos, and hands on projects to make learning stick.

What’s Needed if making the stress balls

Balloons
½ cup Flour, sand, or rice (per balloon, approx.)
Empty Water Bottle, dry
Funnel
As a heads up, some learners may need assistance making the stress ball - blowing it up, covering the bottle with the balloon, or tying it off.
Also, this can get a little messy with flour. :-)

I am certified in Guidance and Counseling in the State of Florida, Elementary Education, and Special Education. I have taught stress management for over 15 years for homeschoolers, public school students, and private school students.
