Decision-making and problem-solving skills are vital skills children need to learn to help them develop confidence and resilience for the challenges life throws at us. This lesson is presented through a fun Powerpoint that includes information, examples, and exercises we will do together. This will teach students different ways to think critically about their decisions and problems and how they can find the best solution to fit their needs. The class is structured in a way that invites students to contribute, discuss and ask questions without feeling the need to incorporate their personal struggles. Students will learn about their intuition and how to make it stronger as well as different brainstorming ideas to help them work through their problems. If you have any questions or need a specific time, please reach out! I look forward to seeing your learners in class!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Auckland University of Technology
'Meraki' (a term used by the Greeks) is when you do something with your soul, creativity, and love. It is my mission to act with Meraki daily and to encourage learners to do the same.
Hi, my name is Olivia, but you can call me Teacher Liv, or Liv. I am passionate about teaching holistically so that students develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I believe that it is easy for students to get drawn into the magic of fairy tales or make-believe but it takes a little more effort to introduce them to the magic in the world around them. And there is so much magic in the world around us!
In my classroom, we will venture into the depths of English, learning how to go from 'story writing' to adventure telling. We will observe nature and discover the secrets behind the eyes of elephants. We will communicate complex messages and feelings without saying any words at all.
(My favourite teaching areas include: English, Science, and Visual Arts).
In my lessons, students will be encouraged to be curious, to laugh, to lead the way, to be proud of themselves and their learning, and to learn at their own pace. Most importantly, to discover the 'magic' hidden in plain sight in the world around us.
I have been an educator for the past 9 years, teaching and learning from children aged 10 months to 12 years old. I have my Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Montessori Education and in 2022 I gained my TESOL diploma.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, being out in nature, traveling, photography, and arts and crafts. So far I have lived in South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada. I love exploring new places and learning about other cultures, languages, and traditions.
