Class Experience

As a life-long science enthusiast, and scientist in disguise, I bring my knowledge of biology, geology, chemistry, and physics into the classroom. Paired with my 10+ years of teaching experience, I know how to guide students into thoughtful exploration of the world around them. I believe that all students can be successful learners and work to create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of my students. I am committed to creating a learning environment that is engaging and encourages student growth. I strive to create hands-on lessons that will capture a student's imagination and breed success.

All my students will have access to many additional learning tools such at Nearpod, Kahoot, Nat Geo, Labster, and Epic! books. I offer these to my students because I believe in providing my students with every tool possible for a successful, interactive, virtual education. These are at no cost to you and will be offered to my ongoing, multi-session, tutoring, and FLEX students.

Since all students are unique and each parent has different learning goals in mind for their student, I am happy to meet with parents for parent/teacher conference sessions. At this time we can discuss your educational goals, areas for improvement, and necessary accommodations for your learner. You may setup a session anytime by sending me a message through Outschool.
Practice problems on iXL will be given after class. These should be completed as soon after each class as possible to reinforce learning. Homework for the following week and/or assessments will be given at the end of the week. All homework to be graded must be turned in as a PDF.
Students should come to class with a dedicated three ring binder to keep handouts and projects organized.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A grade report will be sent home at the end of weeks 4, 8, 12, and 16. Parents can review their students grades anytime on the Schoology page.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
