Life Science (Biology) for Middle Schoolers: Yearlong Course

In this class, we cover the entire life science for Middle School curriculum, aligned with standards, through very interactive lectures. We use Power Point presentations and 3D visuals, with an abundance of examples, while also connecting the concepts to their real life application. Students are encouraged to think like scientists and cultivate their curiosity. They will apply the scientific method, work collaboratively with partners to solve problems, participate in class discussions and projects, etc

Reading materials and handouts will be provided by the instructor,  we will also work with learners on their note taking skills, an important ability towards independence and academic success. We will include different note taking templates that will be reviewed at the end of the lessons while modeling good note taking strategies. Finally, the memorization of new scientific terminology will be part of learners regular practice. Different resources like digital cards and infographics will be provided as support for this. Quizzes and exams will be optional.

We provide additional guidance to help them catch up and fully engage with the material. Plus, since the program restarts upon completion, every learner will have the opportunity to experience the full curriculum.
