Welcome to Life Science for 1st grade and 2nd grade: Session B. This is the second half of a semester-long science program for learners age 5-7. You DO NOT need to have taken session A to take session B. Each week will consist of two 40-minute classes that will include an interactive lecture, live animals, activities, and group discussions. The class will offer 5-10 minutes at the beginning for discussions from our previous classes, review of homework assignments, and for students to...
Learners will become familiar with basic science topics relevant to grades K-3. Learners will understand than animals have adapted to the needs of their environment. Learners will be able to identify the basic steps in both amphibian metamorphosis and insect metamorphosis.
Homework will vary based on week and will include worksheets and small projects.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
