Learners will have gain knowledge about: WEEK 1 -Students will explore how different animals reproduce, and learn terms like larva, pupa and metamorphosis. WEEK 2- Students will learn key terms like prey, predator, producer, consumer and decomposer. WEEK 3-Students will learn about each part and function of a plant WEEK 4-Students will learn about nectar, pollen and seeds, and get introduced to cool terms like pistil and stamen! WEEK 5-Students will learn about the physical characteristics of insects and how they function. As well as learn how humans have taken inspiration from insects through biomimicry. WEEK 6-Students will learn about the different physical characteristics involved in each stage of the metamorphosis process. WEEK 7-Students will learn the difference between the two and enter the scientific debate about nature vs. nurture. WEEK 8-Students will learn about 6 nutrients and where they can find them. WEEK 9-Students will learn about the major groups of vertebrates. WEEK 10-Students will discover the main groups of invertebrates WEEK 11-Students will explore how scientists gather information about dinosaurs based on the fossils they left behind millions of years ago. They’ll also learn the different classifications of dinosaurs and how one type of dinosaur evolved to become our modern-day birds. WEEK 12-Students will learn about different types of fossils and how they form. They’ll understand how fossils give us clues about Earth’s past and the specific conditions that are needed for fossils to form. WEEK 13-Students will learn how plants and animals develop cool tricks for surviving amid different climates, predators and more.
