Each week will begin with the teacher giving clues about the animal and the students guessing which animal we will be learning about. Next, the teacher will give each student a chance to share about an animal they like and why they like it. This gives students practice speaking in front of their peers and also an opportunity to have fun learning about each other. Then, the teacher will teach scientific details about the animal of the week. The students will learn about the animal's body...
Students will learn about a different animal each week including the animal's characteristics, classification, habitat, life cycle, and diet.
I have over 20 years teaching experience in a variety of settings PreK-5th grade including many years teaching Nature Science, Science Experiments, and STEM classes.
Paper, pencil, and colored pencils or crayons. A notebook that student can add pages to each week to create their "Animal Adventures" book.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
