What's included
4 live meetings
2 hrs 20 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will learn about types of farm animals, how they behave, and how to care for them. Each class, students will be introduced to a new animal, literally! Students will learn all about chickens, ducks, goats, cows & ponies. Then, at the end of each class, we will hang out with our pets so they can see them live and ask questions about them. Each class will have a short presentation about the farm animal of the day, along with videos of them at various life stages and engaging in typical behaviors. I will describe how we take care of them and tell them interesting facts about the animals. Then we will sit with the animal, have a discussion as a class, and I will answer questions about the animal. I like my lessons to be engaging and experiential - students will have a live animal encounter with baby chicks, a baby goat, bottle calves, and a pony.
Learning Goals
Students will learn fascinating facts about farm animals, their behaviors, and how they are cared for.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome to my classroom!
As a veteran teacher, I have taught all of the core subjects and various grade levels. In addition to providing primary instruction in all of the social sciences, I also have a master's degree in special education and have had the opportunity to help students build their skills in reading comprehension, writing, and math. I love science and co-taught biology, physical science, and chemistry for years. Currently, in addition to teaching World History, I coach college students on preparing for professional entry exams. Whatever I am teaching, my hope is to inspire others to stay curious, follow their interests, and build the skills that will open doors to the future they want. I believe the best way to learn is in a fun, social, and engaging atmosphere.
My personal interests include caring for animals (I own a hobby farm, where we raise goats, cows, chickens, ducks, and ponies), cultivating a large vegetable garden, camping with my kids, and traveling. I am fascinated by many topics, including various time periods and events from history, understanding the world through demographic data, and writing - both creatively and objectively.
I look forward to the honor of teaching your child.
Sincerely,
Becky B.
