Students will learn all about baby chickens. During the class, students will be introduced to baby chickens, literally! I like my lessons to be engaging and experiential - so students will have a live animal encounter with the baby chicks. Students will learn all about chickens and we will hang out with our baby chickens so they can see them live and ask questions about them. The class will have a short presentation about chickens, along with videos of them at various life stages and...
Students will learn what baby chickens look like, sound like, and act like. They will also learn about egg and chicken development, behavior and breeds. Students will also learn about the different purposes of baby chickens on a farm.
Students should bring art supplies (paper, crayons, colored pencils, etc.) as they will have the option of drawing a picture of the baby chicks!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
