Description
Class Experience
Students will improve understanding of real world skills and experiences. The students need to feel confident and prepared to go out into the real world.
I am offering this class because many of our high school students need some type of class like this! I have been teaching life skills both in the college and high school setting for many years and I find that most students want help but are afraid to ask for it. I am thrilled to be that help and be one of the constants in their life. My approach is unique because I really take the time to get to know students and what they want to learn. I am also a very personable individual who knows how to connect with students. I have also lived through all of this so I believe that is unique as well.
There will be some homework regarding different skills that will be worked on. This could include worksheets and different projects that will be assigned.
You will need basic supplies, like pens, pencils, notebook paper, etc. Handouts and everything else should be provided!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner progress will be assessed by more in depth conversations after the topic has been launched. They also need to be able to complete or show that they can do the skills on their own.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
There will be discussion regarding some current events that are happening in the US. Other than that, I will assure you that all topics will be appropriate!
