Class Experience
In this third part of the course, students will: -use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing side of right triangles -use a formula to find the distance between points on a coordinate plane -using trig ratios to find the missing measures of a right triangle -create and analyze box plots -calculate simple probabilities
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics as well as a Master's Degree in Education. With 20 years of experience teaching in the classroom coupled with 5 years of experience teaching online to students with varying abilities and needs, I feel extremely qualified to deliver this instruction to learners via Outschool. I love Algebra and how it sharpens the mind. I want students to enjoy mathematics on every level and my approach to this class has the ability to turn students into lifelong lovers of the subject!
No homework will be assigned, however, if there are examples that we are not able to complete in class, they can be loaded in the classroom for students to finish. I will provide feedback as needed.
Students should have a three-ring binder in order to keep track of assignments and notes from each session. A calculator and graph paper would be nice items to have, however, when possible, I will suggest websites that may have the tools that a learner may need (example: online calculators).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Feedback will be provided while students are completing examples in class with me. Parents are also welcome to contact me via Outschool messages with any specific questions about performance.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
