Description
Class Experience
Students will strive to complete a novel or novella in a one-month time period through setting reasonable goals.
I am a professional writer and editor, as well as owner of a small independent publishing company. I have an MA in Professional Writing with a focus in creative writing. My work has been published in magazines, books, and online, and I have edited novel manuscripts for both self-publication and submission to publishing companies. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself and offer multiple classes for young writers within the LGBTQ+ community.
Students should plan to devote a significant amount of time to writing in order to complete a draft in one month, but the work will be self-paced and based on personal word count goals.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Students are encouraged, but not required, to sign up with NaNoWriMo's Young Writers Program for additional tools and support: https://ywp.nanowrimo.org/
