Writing a novel in one month is no easy feat, but with support from a writing group of your peers, it's an attainable goal! Weekly class time will include discussion, setting daily and weekly word count goals, developing characters and story lines, and making plans for managing writing time. Students will strive to complete a novel or novella in a one-month time period through setting reasonable goals.
I am a professional writer and editor, as well as owner of a small independent publishing company. I have an MA in Professional Writing with a focus in creative writing. My work has been published in magazines, books, and online, and I have edited novel manuscripts for both self-publication and submission to publishing companies. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself and offer multiple classes for young writers within the LGBTQ+ community.
Homework Offered
Students should plan to devote a significant amount of time to writing in order to complete a draft in one month, but the work will be self-paced and based on personal word count goals.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
