                                                       Curriculum Overview:

"Level Up: Spanish Immersion for Kids" was designed for students with a foundational knowledge of Spanish. The focus is expanding vocabulary, improving conversational skills, and introducing more complex grammar concepts. Students will build confidence and fluency through engaging activities while deepening their cultural understanding. 

**Welcome Back to Spanish Immersion For Kids (Level Up)! 

Week 1: Review and Goal Setting
Vocabulary: Greetings, classroom commands, days of the week, months.
Grammar: Subject pronouns, ser vs. estar review.

Week 2: Describing People and Places
Vocabulary: Physical and personality traits, common places (park, school, home).
Grammar: Adjective agreement, hay (there is/are).

Week 3: Daily Routines and Time
Vocabulary: Morning, afternoon, and evening routines; telling time.
Grammar: Reflexive verbs (levantarse, lavarse), sequencing words (primero, después).

Week 4: Family and Friends
Vocabulary: Family members, friendship terms, relationship phrases.
Grammar: Possessive adjectives (mi, tu, su), review of ser for relationships.

Week 5: Around the Neighborhood
Vocabulary: Places in the community (library, park, supermarket), directions.
Grammar: Prepositions of place (al lado de, enfrente de).


Week 6: Food and Mealtime Conversations
Vocabulary: Food and drink, mealtime phrases, ordering at a restaurant.
Grammar: Present tense verbs (comer, beber, pedir).
Certificates of Completion awarded.


Week 7: Weather and Seasons
Vocabulary: Weather phrases (hace frío, está soleado), seasons.
Grammar: Expressions with hacer and estar for weather.

Week 8: Hobbies and Free Time
Vocabulary: Sports, music, arts, and other hobbies.
Grammar: Verbs like gustar and encantar.

Week 9: Travel and Transportation
Vocabulary: Modes of transportation, travel destinations, packing items.
Grammar: Future tense for simple plans (voy a viajar).

Week 10: Storytelling and Creative Writing
Vocabulary: Story-related words (once upon a time, characters, ending).
Grammar: Past tense introduction (fue, tuvo, dijo).

Week 11: Cultural Exploration
Focus: Explore traditions, music, and holidays from Spanish-speaking countries.

Week 12: Final Review and Showcase
Review games to reinforce key concepts.
Class showcase: Students present projects or performances.
Certificates of Completion awarded.

Don't know your child's Spanish proficiency level?

       One of my primary goals is to ensure that your learner is placed at the right level from the very beginning. 

      If you already know your child's Spanish level, please let me know. This careful placement will significantly enhance their learning experience, making the class more enjoyable and productive.

       If you’re unsure of your child’s Spanish level, don’t worry! I offer a 25-minute 1-on-1 Language Proficiency Assessment session to evaluate and determine your child’s proficiency level. While optional, this assessment is highly recommended to ensure your learner starts at the right level. 
      If you are interested, please feel free to reach out via message, I will send you the link to sign up for the 25 min. 1-on-1 Language Proficiency Assessment. 

       Alternatively, you may wait until your child attends the first class session. If I observe that the current level is not a good fit whether they need to be more challenged or additional support I will recommend placing him/her in one of the different sessions that I offer and better suits his/her needs. Of course, you will have the final decision before making any changes.
