Welcome to Level 6 Violin. This class is for you if you: *have played the violin for at least 6 months *can play repertoire at a similar level to the first 8-10 pieces in Suzuki Book 1 (mostly on A and E strings with a little bit of D string) *want to learn more about music reading *want to learn more music on your violin! This is an example of what the class structure might look like. Depending on the class, we may cover different/more repertoire. Specific repertoire is not listed because it will really depend on the interests of the class. Week of March 13 - Start new repertoire Week of March 20 - New techniques in playing - slurs, double stops, plucking Week of March 27 - New finger patterns - introducing high 3 and low 1 Week of April 17 - Continue new finger patterns Week of April 24 - Learning about time signatures and key signatures Week of May 1 - Review & performances Please contact me with any questions prior to enrolling in this class if you have not previously taken violin classes with me.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!
I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
