We will be learning the method of Touch Point Math to memorize addition facts, subtraction facts, related fact families, story problems, make ten frames, number lines, doubles plus one strategy and doubles subtract one strategy. Students will develop memorization of addition and subtraction math facts 1-20. Week 1 - Review Touch Point Math for numbers 1-9 addition, doubles, vocabulary Week 2 - Related subtraction math facts for 1-5 (fact families), doubles, vocabulary, use a number line to solve equations Week 3 - Related subtraction math facts for 6-10 (fact families), story problems, doubles plus one, doubles minus one Week 4 - Addition and subtraction math fact review, solving story problems, make ten frames
Students will need a bin/box with the following supplies available at each class: 1 small white board ( approximately 5 X 10 inches), 2 white board markers, white board eraser (a sock works), 2 pencils with erasers, fifty 3 X 5 cards, two 20 X 3 inch sentence strips (or paper that an adult has cut and taped into 20 X 3 inch strips), a baggie or container with 20 small counting objects (such as buttons, paper clips, Lego pieces, etc.) , 10 empty "slide lock" baggies
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
