Welcome to Level 2 Gymnastics! In this class, I will teach students how to do a round-off. The round-off is an important skill because it is used in many tumbling combinations. When done correctly, the round-off gives the gymnast a burst of power to fuel other skills. We will begin class with a warm-up and stretching. Next, we will go through a few drills to work on agility and strength. I will watch cartwheels and make any adjustments necessary. Then, I will give step by step instruction of how to do a round-off. Together, we will celebrate each student's progress and success! Our classroom environment will be upbeat and encouraging. I will use observation to assess the students and will try my best to individualize instruction when needed. Often, I will have a "helper" demonstrate the skill as I instruct. Students need to be able to do a cartwheel before taking this class. For your child's safety, make sure you provide an exercise mat and an open space that is free from obstacles. In addition, students should come to class barefoot to prevent slipping.
