Students will experience Week 1 of my full phonics program. Students learn 8 sounds of English letters and master essential reading skills of blending, segmenting, and phoneme manipulation. Students will build, spell, and decode CVC words.

Week 1Lesson 1CVC Word BuildingBuild CVC words using letter tiles.Lesson 2CVC Auditory ProcessingPractice moving sounds in and out of words to build new words.Lesson 3CVC Word Reading and SpellingSound out CVC words and use blending skills to read new words. Use segmenting skills to spell the words.Lesson 4CVC Sentence ReadingApply all the skills learned this week by reading sentences with CVC words.
Students will become confident readers of CVC words and will know the eight sounds of the letters we cover over the course of the week.
I am a certified elementary teacher and certified reading therapist. I am offering this class to give students an in-depth study of how our English words are structured, and how to break them down into their sounds in order to make decoding easier. I teach each lesson using the Phono-graphix method which I have been formally trained in by the program authors. I have been using this strategy with my private students for over 20 years and my students have had amazing success with it.
Homework Offered
Independent practice is encouraged by reading from the suggested reading list.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners may submit videos of their progress at each level for teacher feedback. In a separate class listing, students may enroll in my One-on-one formal assessment for further guidance.Grades Offered
Students may use their own letter tiles for activities or access the Google Jamboard I provide access to after enrollment for the class.
