In this one-time class, students will learn beginner coding skills on the Tynker Junior app using a variety of digital puzzles to help their fish navigate the “Ocean Odyssey” level.
Class experience
*Students will be actively coding in this class and may benefit from assistance by an adult.* In this beginning coding class, students will learn to solve various puzzles and directional puzzles using Tynker Junior. First, students will have a chance to share something with the class and introduce themselves. They will then learn to solve each “Ocean Odyssey” puzzle to work our way through the level with guidance from the teacher and build their confidence in their digital puzzle solving...
Students will learn sequencing, pattern recognition and critical thinking to solve a variety of puzzles and build confidence in their problem solving skills through guidance and support from the teacher.
Tynker Jr. is a free app download on iOS devices only and we will be using the free “Limited Version” in class (there is also a subscription version available :).

The free educational Tynker Jr iOS app will be used in this class in order to solve a variety of coding problems and levels for your pre-reader. Tynker is a complete learning system that teaches children to code. A subscription will be required after 7-day free trial.
