Class Experience
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Fractions! In this one time class, we will have a complete introduction and practice with simple fractions in an engaging, whole brain experience. ~We will start off with vocabulary and practice with identifying what a fraction is and how it represents parts of a whole number. ~Once we have the fancy lingo in order, we move on to identifying the parts of a represented fraction using picture supports. We will discuss how to determine the numerator versus the...
Students will be able to identify fractions as part of a whole number. Students will be able to identify the parts of a fraction. Students will be able to use word problems and pictures to help them identify the numerator and denominator of a fraction.
I have both the educational background of a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction for Pre-K through 5th Grade, with an emphasis in ESL instruction for language acquisition, as well as the teaching experience of instructing students in various math skills ranging from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. I have 5 years of experience in this very subject area, and have been trained, observed, and instructed on the best practices of teaching students in mathematics.

We will be utilizing the website Blooket, which is a game based way to practice the skills learned in the class. Students do not need to have an account, just going to play.blooket.com/play will allow them to enter the code to access the game we play.
