Class Experience
This is level 1 Haitian Creole for ages 5 to 7. Welcome!! You will learn through repetition, sounding the words out, and through singing songs from English to Haitian Creole. We will respect one another and take turns. I will first say the word. We will then say it together. Last, the students will say it by themselves. We will also learn through songs like Baby Shark, The Haitian Alphabet Song, and a Haitian Lullaby. Your child will learn common greetings. They will also learn short phrases....
Students will learn how to hold simple conversations in Haitian Creole. They will know the numbers 1-10, the calendar months with some Haitian history. We will play a colors game and engage in a verbs exercise.
I am Haitian. I was born in Haiti and came to America at the age of 7. I love my language! I speak, read & write Haitian Creole. It is a beautiful and easy language to learn. Please sign your child and join me in learning Haitian Creole!
Practice every day for at least 20 minutes intervals
I will need you to have a folder for this class. I will be sending the lesson for each day through e-mail and I expect the parents to print them out and practice everyday for 15 minutes intervals. When you are not practicing with your child, please put the lesson inside the folder for safe keeping.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
