I am a published author of young adult/juvenile novels and have mentored youth writing groups for years. I have ten years experience with elementary and high school students in public and home school settings.
It is optional, but students can write letters especially for class exercising their storytelling, descriptive communication skills.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There are no grades. This is a club environment and is meant for free learning and social interaction.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students are expected to write on subjects and using language in good taste for a group setting. Students will be cautioned about sharing information that is too personal about themselves or their family. Letters to be read in class will be screened by the instructor before being allowed to be shared.
