Students will learn how to write a friendly letter and address an envelope. We will discuss the different parts of a letter which include: date, heading, greeting, body, closing, signature and postscript (p.s.). The students will explore a variety of greetings and words to use in their letters to keep the reader's attention. At the end of this course students will have a correctly labeled envelope and well developed letter to mail to someone special. I will also focus on basic grammar skills such as: punctuation, capitalization, identify nouns and verbs. Lastly, the students will learn how to properly address an envelope which includes (sender's and recipient's information): name, street name & number, zip code, state and stamp placement.

Supply List
Students must have the following items for each class meeting: student's address, letter recipient's address,10 blank envelopes (total), 5-10 sheets of lined paper, a pencil, eraser and a colored marking tool (pen or crayon) and 5 copies of the envelope template (see attachment).
