This is a festive beginning writing class, writers will learn to form sentences using spaces between words, capital letters at the beginning of sentences and punctuation when writing a letter to Santa.

During this interactive writing class students will quickly introduce themselves to the other students in the class. They will also quickly share one item that they would really like from Santa this year. They will then have a mini-lesson where we build a sentence together. We will discuss spaces between words, where capital letters belong and using punctuation at the end of each sentence. Together we will write two sentences using these foundations. Students will learn the beginning stages of writing complete sentences. They will learn that their needs to be spaces between words, a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence and punctuation mark at the end of a sentence.
Students will need writing paper, a writing tool (pencil or pen) and something to color a picture.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
