Class Experience

In this ongoing class, the students will learn about the new letter and the sound that goes with it. The students will read the book about the new letter /sound taught in class together "AlphaTales " by Scholastic (used with permission). Alphatales is a collection of 26 letter books. In each class, we will come up with words that start with the letter name/letter sound being taught in class. In each class, the students can bring something that starts with that letter name/sound. The students will be shown the lowercase letter that is being taught. The students will be given bubble letters lowercase ( see the schedule of the letter). We will turn that letter that something starts with that letter like b is for butterfly. At the end of each class, the students can show their letter craft. These classes do not build on each other we just go over one letter each week. We are currently working on lowercase letters.
Week of October 6 -Letter name/sound b - we will be making the letter b into a butterfly with various colours of markers including blue, black and brown markers. They will be encouraged to draw things that start with the letter and letter sound step by step.
Week of November 14 - letter name /sound p- we will be making the letter p into a parrot. The students will be using their creativity to use different art materials that start with p for their parrot wings e.g pom poms
Week of November 21 - letter name/sound t- we will be making the letter t into a tiger.
Week of November 28 - letter name /sound d - we'll be making the letter d into a donut.
The pdf will be sent approximately 24 hours before class.
