Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
In this writing course, learners will describe processes like how to find the treasure through writing using picture prompts. This class is great of all learners who wish to develop their writing. ESL friendly - A2 learners and above.

Each class will start with a picture prompt. Learners will discuss what they can see and what might be happening in the picture. Key vocabulary will be drawn out at this stage to help with the writing process later.

The teacher will then pose a question which is what learners will write about eg 'Where is the treasure?' or 'Can we pack our suitcases in time?' or 'What do we need to go swimming?'

In this class, we will follow a 5 step process for writing:
Step 1: Prewriting.
Step 2: Planning and outlining.
Step 3: Writing a first draft.
Step 4: Redrafting and revising.
Step 5: Editing and proofreading.

Steps 1, 2 and some of 3 will be doing in the class. Learners will be encouraged to complete their writing after class and post it to the classroom after class to complete steps 4 and 5.

This course is suitable for learners that are working towards using a broader range of vocabulary in their writing. Learners should be able to write words by themselves but may need some assistance in forming complete sentences. Due to the nature of the tasks, more able learners will also be able to join.

This class is suitable for ESL learners who are at A2 and above in English. This course will be great preparation for learners looking to take the Flyers, KEY and PET examinations. There are lots of similar skills such as describing pictures, identifying where things are and explaining things clearly in both speaking and writing.

Please message us if you have any questions.

We look forward to being part of your learning journey!
