In this class, we will write Super Sentences! To do this, we will start with a basic sentence, and then add and change words to make the sentence more exciting! Each week, I will introduce, and we will discuss a different part of speech to brainstorm lots of new words and ideas. Then the students will have a chance to create and share their Super Sentence with the class! For example: "The horse runs" could become "The striped mare gallops gracefully." This is an ongoing class that will run on a 3-week cycle. Even though we will cover nouns & adjectives every 3 weeks, our discussion and sentences will be different. On the other hand, feel free to attend only once or miss when necessary! We will cycle through the following parts of speech & cover: July 11-nouns & adjectives July 18-verbs & adverbs July 25-prepositional phrases If students struggle with writing, they are welcome to attend the class and come up with their ideas and share them through speaking only. It can be a goal for them to write the sentence they create!

I love to teach in any capacity: especially reading, writing and grammar classes.
Teaching is my passion! I have been teaching for 23 years everything from early childhood to college & adults. Not only have I taught in elementary schools, but I have been homeschooling my children for the past 12 years and working in several homeschool coops as well. For my career, I teach English as a Second Language to adults.
I am very familiar with the ins and outs of the English language, from the basics of phonics & reading to college writing, and everything in between! (Like past participles 😄) My philosophy of education is that every child can learn! I would love to work with your child and help them succeed!
