Class Experience

Does your learner to love write? Is your learner struggling to know what to write about or having a difficult time getting thoughts onto paper? This class is perfect for all young writers!

A mini writing lesson will be taught at the beginning of each class (about 10-15 minutes). Students will learn a different writing technique each week and will be challenged to use it in their silly story.

After the mini writing lesson, students will be given an option of two different silly writing prompts. Students will pick a prompt and spend about 20 minutes writing their silly short story. As students write, I will be meeting with students individually to discuss their story and provide feedback (either in a one on one breakout room or in the main room with other students muted, dependent on class size). When meeting with students individually, I'll be providing differentiated feedback to help all students improve their writing.

The last 10 minutes of class students will have the opportunity to share their stories with each other. We will discuss ways to provide actionable feedback to our peers, as well as acknowledging our favorite parts of the story.

Students are welcome to finish their story after class and submit to the teacher for more specific and detailed feedback. I love seeing the creative stories students come up with!
