(I have names of nursing home residents who we may send them to if a student has no one in mind.) We will talk as a class about why we think this is important. We will then...
We are practicing our writing & art skills while learning about empathy.
I’ve taught in many classrooms from pre-K to college age and find it important that our students learn how important it is to communicate. Something as simple as a card can brighten ones day! I’ve also worked with many elderly in activities in local nursing homes and I have seen how bringing the young together with our seniors can benefit everyone! With it being a critical time in our world I believe this class can benefit all ages!
Mail your notes with parental assistance
Students will need to have writing utensils, paper or card stock, along with any colored pencils or crayons to complete our notes in class. Students will also need an envelope and stamp to send the completed assignment.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents will need to assist students in mailing their letters, notes, or cards after our class is completed.
