Students will write a paragraph about the Venus Fly Trap using a keyword summary method.

Class Experience

*THIS IS AN INTRO TO THE IEW APPROACH*

Students will learn all about Venus fly trap! 
They will write a simple paragraph using the keyword summary method.
First, they will read a passage about the Venus Fly Trap and discuss the many interesting facts about it.  Then they will create a keyword outline for each sentence (each student will have a turn choosing keywords).  

Later, we will collaboratively create a paragraph using the keywords from the outline (each student will contribute a...

Students will be introduced to keyword outlines and using their keywords to create a collaborative paragraph.

I have over 20 years experience in the education field, specifically in teaching students to read, write and spell.  I am a certified Orton-Gillingham Therapeutic Tutor and I also offer writing classes to local students in my area.  I am a homeschool mom to my 3 children for the past 10 years.
