This class is designed for the students who need a little extra boost before going into first grade this year. We will be creating stories together, and I will write the stories down. We will practice reading the stories in the second half of the class together. Afterwards, I will send the stories to the students via the classroom. Students can come and go as they wish. I will have a list of typical vocabulary words that first graders should know going into the grade. I will prompt the students with these words and helped direct their writing. Generally, they will be coming up with the plots and characters. This will be a small class that will run at least through the summer.
Learning Goals
The kids will learn how to create stories using different thematic events. They will use simple words that they will be able to read and spell and write by the end of the class.

Pencil and paper, or whiteboard and pens.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
