Let's Write a Story!

Skills covered include, listening, speaking, connecting to a story, sharing thoughts and putting them into a spoken and then written sentence.  Learners will listen to a story, discuss ideas for a written response and then work together to write a sentence or two about a topic of their choice.  My job is to coach your learner through putting their idea into a manageable sentence and then stretching out words as they write the sentence along with me.  High frequency words will also be covered as part of the writing process.  The course is limited to 6 students to allow learners to share ideas with each other through conversations and to work through writing a sentence together. Learners should be able to write most letters of the alphabet and have some knowledge of letter sounds. Each class will be based on a different book and topic, so students are encouraged to take the course as many times as they would like!
