Let's Write a Song Together! (Ages 4-6)
In this one time course, we will go over elements of basic music theory and songwriting! We will collaboratively write one song as a class and students will get a recording and sheet music of the final product.

In this one time class, we will go over all the basic components of songwriting (including but not limited to): - Parts of a song - Finding song inspiration - Brainstorm a song topic - Writing lyrics together - Writing a melody - Writing harmonies - Basic Music Theory Part Writing Skills This class is very fluid to the musical background and interests of the students involved. During the course, the class as a whole will focus on writing one song. I will input the melody and harmonies into a music writing software, and students will be able to access a recording of the song (voice and piano) and the song's sheet music as well so they can see their final product. They will also learn tips and tricks from our collaborative song that they can add into writing their own music!

An optional one-page coloring handout will be sent out in the classroom before the start of class. Bring the colors of your choice!

Hi! It’s so nice to introduce myself, in the classroom I go by Miss Amanda or Miss Mandy. I am a young, enthusiastic and ambitious musician and music educator. I have experience interning and substitute teaching students of all ages K-12 in public schools for over a year. I am currently a music teacher at a studio (for piano, voice, and ukulele) and with my bachelor's degree in Music Education and Elementary Education.
