Class Experience

Does your learner need some extra practice writing in cursive?  Do they like to create fun stories?  This one-time class combines both elements in an engaging, interactive class where learners work together to write a short story.  Each learner will have a turn to add to the narrative as they write the story in cursive.  If time allows, learners can even add illustrations!

*Please keep in mind, this class is designed specifically for learners who already know the formation of the cursive alphabet but simply need practice to strengthen their skills.

This class will be broken down as follows:
1) Greetings and introductions
2) Guidelines for activity
3) Story creation and cursive writing
4) Final read-aloud
5) Illustration creation (if time allows)
6) Closing thoughts and goodbyes

Supply List

For this class, learners will need to bring:
1) Cursive writing sheet (pdf file provided in the enrollment welcome message)
2) Pencil and eraser
3) Cursive writing template (optional - will be provided in the classroom welcome message)

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello there!  My name is Miss Katelynn, and I LOVE to teach!  I have my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and currently teach 3rd grade at a private school.  I have experience teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in the classroom, and also work with 3rd-5th graders on a weekly basis at my church.  The elementary ages are my favorite!

One of my biggest goals in teaching is for every student to leave my class feeling encouraged, empowered, and valued.  Students will gain important knowledge and skills (and hopefully have a lot of fun!) in my classes, all while feeling welcomed and comfortable.
