I have enjoyed creative writing my whole life. I wrote my first award-winning story in first grade. I have co-authored three anthologies of creative works, and my stories have been published in print and on-line publications.
In addition to watching two videos, which will be approximately 20 minutes long in total, students are expected to spend approximately 10 minutes on the exercises and 20 minutes writing the story, and a few minutes uploading it to the classroom and responding to others.
Students will need one 6-sided number cube (a die) and something to write on/with. For students wishing to upload their stories, they will need a device with which to record themselves reading their story, or a device on which to write their story in a format which can be uploaded to the classroom. If uploading pictures of handwritten stories, please be sure they are focused and clear.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will give written feedback to include pointing out one area of strength and one area in which to improve for one story uploaded to the classroom per week.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
YouTube is a COPPA approved site, and approved by Outschool. Students will not actually go to YouTube, rather, they will access videos created by the teacher and linked through the Outschool Classroom. Students will not be able to browse YouTube; they will only have access to the videos linked.

In addition to teaching middle school for 21 years and working with middle school teachers for an additional 6 years, I have enjoyed creative writing my whole life. I wrote my first award-winning story in first grade. I have co-authored three anthologies of creative works, and my stories have been published in print and on-line publications.
